We just had our roof replaced by your crew and they did a fantastic job in just three days. They were professional and efficient getting here early and staying until 7:30 to get the job done. Austin is an awesome salesman and gave us an estimate, showed us the different shingles and closed the work order in a very short time. He even came to help the crew when he had spare time. 12/14/2020 WOW Your crew showed up at my home early this morning and went to work. I have encountered services from contractor previously and none have compared to what this crew did today, they came in removed all of my olde roofing, did repairs and left my home this evening leaving behind no mess in fact they left this evening with the grounds around my home better than they found it... Superior work and a very friendly crew... feeling blessed at this point in the experience, looking forward to the finished product in the next couple of days, if it goes tomorrow like it did today you can be assured that my Marine Corps World in this community of ours Thank you!

Rain City Roofers: an honest, straightforward, skilled and reasonable roofing contractor

I was entertaining the idea of having a major home improvement entity install a new roof, new screened gutters and new upstairs windows on my 1911 home in inner SE Portland, but the price tag shock (over $30K for those three projects) gave me considerable pause. And this company’s sales technique (which I now know is called “price conditioning” (contractor starts out with what they represent as the average price for the type of project, rather than figuring the time and materials cost and adding a reasonable profit), was a turn-off. When I questioned the price approach, the big outfit started offering a much lower price. But now I did not trust them.

Instead, after more research, I decided to go with three different companies, each of which specialized in only one product and service, and each of which was very straightforward regarding its bid to do the work. One of those companies was a gutter outfit, which in turn referred me to Rain City Roofers in Vancouver for my roofing needs.
Rain City was not the lowest bid I received for the roofing job on our SE Portland home, but I was impressed by the high level of installation quality (e.g., using more nails than the minimum to ensure shingles would not blow off, as well as its use of an attractive and intelligently designed architectural shingle made by Owens Corning, a tried & true company, and also the degree of care that Rain City put into planning and executing the roofing proposal. But what absolutely sold me on Rain City Roofers was its honesty and straightforwardness from start to finish, by each and every person connected with the company, including its knowledgable sales rep Don, the receptionist (Elizabeth), the entire roofing crew that came out, and the owner Jason and his son Austin.

I could not be happier with the finished product, and I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Rain City Roofers to those in the Portland metro area. This outfit was a genuine pleasure to deal with, from start to finish.

Jason and Elizabeth came out to give me an estimate on my roof. I had a leaking roof. I had a couple of other roofing companies come out and one told me they'd fix it no problem and the other wouldn't even give me a quote unless they replaced the whole roof - right now!
When Jason came out he looked up on the roof, came down, went back up with a caulker and came back down. I was chatting with Elizabeth and asked him what he did. He caulked the hole so it would be o.k for a couple of months while I decided who to go with. He also said that I did need a roof replacement, but within the next 5 years. They were no pressure and easy to work with. I really appreciated Jason for caulking my roof.
I did go with this company and they did a great job with the repair. He also caulked the staple holes and did other work all for a super reasonable price! I will call them up when it's time for my whole roof to be repaired.
I'm still waiting for an estimate from the first guy and I obviously didn't go with the high pressure sale of the other company.

Rain City Roofers did an excellent job on our new roof! After getting estimates from 6 other roofing companies that came highly recommended, we selected Jason and his company for our roof project.

They removed our existing concrete Bantile roof which was over 30 years old and causing structural issues with the roof which was never engineered to handle the extreme weight of concrete tiles. They showed up with a full crew and demoed the roof for recycling in less than two hours! Once the old roof was removed, they repaired the roof deck, prepped it for the new roof and had the moisture barrier and rows of new shingles installed on the first day!

They finished the entire project in less than two days. They were very methodical about keeping the job site clean, safe and did a thorough job of cleaning up the nails around the house with a large magnet. Some of the hardest working (and nicest) contractors we've ever hired for a home remodeling project. The quality of the work performed was excellent.

Highly recommend! We love the new Owens Corning asphalt shingle roof and the color with our brick house is amazing! We also appreciate the ridge ventilation system for it's clean aesthetic over all the ugly black box vents you see on most homes in our area. Excellent contractor!

We had a rocky start with Rain City Roofers because they are going through some growing pains and like many contractors in the middle of a busy season, have a hard time following through with communication (confirming start dates, following up with questions). Once we were in their queue and had a firm date, it was an excellent experience. Jason assured me that they are working on doing a better job of communicating with their customers. Don't let that give you pause as it's no indication of the quality of their work!

I woke up this morning to a roof vent and insulation on my patio floor. This was followed by thunder lightning and a major
downpour. I called Rain City Roofers. Within 1/2 hour Jason was at my front door and immediately fixed the problem . I give a 5 star for service and definitely Jason deserves a 6 star.

Quality work and great customer service! Jason worked me into his busy schedule and was able to come out the next day to repair my leaking roof. He also went above and beyond by applying tar to some shingles that had been lifted on other parts of the roof - an excellent local company who I will definitely recommend to others and use again if the need arises.

We had a roof leak in our 3 story townhome in St. Johns PDX during the ice storm and had difficulty getting roofing contractors to provide a quote. Or, if they did, it wasn't specific, or it was ridiculously high. Jason was very thoughtful, and ended up doing the roofs of my 3 neighbors! By the time some of the contractors were available to come out and bid, the work was done!

Our rental townhome had a roof leak as a result of the ice storm. As an out of town landlord, I either couldn't get a roofer/contractor to come out for a few weeks, or the price they quoted was ridiculously high (i.e. recommending a total roof replacement without specifics).

Then I found Jason and Rain City Roofers. Jason is very knowledgeable and professional.
He came out quickly. Evaluated the issue (needed to add a moisture barrier in the cricket areas) and came up with an affordable solution. He was able to quickly schedule the work, and even put a tarp over the affected areas to protect our property. Our neighbors were having the same issue and he ended up doing all 4 our our townhomes (in a row) and passed along a price break. They were also very pleased with him.

I found him on HomeAdvisor (where he has great reviews) but I wanted to make sure Yelpers found him too!
